The Ajax Cellars Story
Ajax Cellars embodies the Aspen spirit, a place where anything is possible. Sommelier Greg Van Wagner uses his experience tasting the great wines of the world to seek out the most compelling winemakers in their region. Each bottling represents a sommelier’s tastes with a winemaker’s expertise. Every wine is only produced in small lots, and only when the result will be vibrant, alive, and highly expressive.
Colorado and Willamette Valley
Organic situations gave us the idea to produce wine in two incredible and distinct zones: Colorado and the Willamette Valley of Oregon. Colorado is making some of its best wines ever, and the Willamette is a classic region for some of the best Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in the United States. In both areas, the stylistic preference is for European-style wines with balance, freshness, limited oak, and incredible food-friendliness. Find out more about each wine region and our wines.
